About Us

Tree Frog Bistro first opened its doors April 1, 2003 on Texada Island. Chef/Owner Marika Varro brought her passion and love of cooking to the small Island in Gillies Bay.

Over the years she created a regular client base and people from all over the world made their way over to Texada Island where she dazzled them with her culinary delights.

Unfortunately when the recession hit many people on the Island moved away in search of employment elsewhere and Marika found she needed to relocate as well. Powell River was her choice of locations and she was able to find prime real estate on Marine Avenue.

The owners of the building renovated the garage and car dealer ship that occupied the space and on October 12, 2010 she was able to open Tree Frog Bistro’s doors for the people of Powell River and those that visited our little city.

Tree Frog Bistro is looking forward to having a long lasting relationship with the people of Powell River and making new relationships with our visiting friends from around the world.
